John McClelland replaced Peter Haddock at Left Half at half time. David Batty came on for Gordon Strachan at Outside Right after fifty-two minutes, Simon Grayson replaced Vinnie Jones at Right Half after sixty-six minutes and Glynn Snodin replaced Mel Sterland at Right Back after seventy-three minutes for Leeds. Genoa's only change was the replacement of goalkeeper Simone Braglia by Attilio Gregori at half-time. The referee was Steve Bell of Huddersfield.
